Use simple hooks like 'Oh, you're going to love this'
You don't need anything complicated for your hook. There is one hook that works in any situation: 'Oh, you're going to love this.' If you say it at the beginning of a story, the other person will immediately perk up. You need to follow it with the rest of the tips to actually deliver on your promise. An example hook is 'Truth that hit me lands like a butterfly and strikes like a lightning bolt at the same time.'
